Sometimes I really wonder where this girl came from.
The other day we were passing a cemetary on our way to visit our cousins. Brooklyn said, "Hey, look, that's where all the people turned to dust!"
This morning I was getting dressed and Brooklyn was in my room "helping" me. (Don't worry, this is clean.) I was asking Brooklyn what I should wear today. I grabbed a pair of jeans and said, "How about jeans?" That was fine with her. Then I looked through my drawer and picked out a t-shirt. I said, "How about a t-shirt?" When I slipped it over my head she replied, "There, now you look like a mom!" Not sure if that was supposed to be a compliment or what.
Later we moved some furniture around, and it's always fun to see what has fallen behind couches, chairs, or benches. As I moved a hope chest away from the wall, I called to the kids to come look at the treasure I found. Brooklyn exclaimed, "Mom, you found my lady fox!" She has been a little obsessed lately with "The Fox and the Hound" and pretends she is Dixie a lot. Also, the little fox we found came from a Noah's Ark toy. So it may actually be a lady fox, but I'm not sure how she can tell the difference.
Anyone see the movie "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs?" Brooklyn watched it the other morning. At lunch that day, out of nowhere, during an otherwise unusually quiet moment she shouted, "Steve!" Which is the monkey's name who randomly says things throughout the movie.
