Winter Monkeys

It has been a long winter, and while it has been pretty mild weather in our neck of the woods, we have still been spending a lot of time indoors.

We have been waiting patiently for Daddy to get home from work in the dark every night. And, I must admit we are noticing with great appreciation the ever increasing amounts of daylight we get each passing day. The kids have been helping Mom with her chores. (That amounts to the chores taking a bit longer than they normally would. But, hey, what else do I have to do in the winter time?)
And, most of all, we have been acting like monkeys! That's pretty much what we are best at anyway.

My Jackson monkey has been catching up on his favorite TV show, Modern Marvels. My Brooklyn monkey has been mastering a fishing game called Feeding Frenzy. This morning she exclaimed, "You wanna piece of me?" to the computer. Dakotah monkey has mastered the use of my iPod Touch, turning it on and hiding all my apps. And little Levi monkey is steadily gaining his balance and learning to walk like a crab (sideways and with his hands working open and closed).
Dayne (I can't call him a monkey.) is developing new skills in snowmobiles. He has installed a number of performance enhancing turbos and learns new mechanical skills with suprising speed and efficiency. I am quite impressed as any good wife should be with her incredibly talented and handsome husband.
My monkey business is in the cyber world. I have been filling up at least some of my time working on another blog. One Mean Mama (http://aroomtomyself.blogspot.com) is my own personal forum for expressing my creative writing skills (or lack thereof) and is especially for women and mothers. I've been slowly making it more public, and I would love for everyone to check it out and please leave your comments. I LOVE comments!

Sounds like they are having a lot of fun. Mine seem to be bouncing off the walls too.
