She does not look like a boy!
Brooklyn went on her first visit to the hair salon today! This is the before shot. She was so excited all week when she found out she would be getting her hair cut. Then when she walked in she got real quiet and timid. I kind of figured that would happen.
This is how it turned out. I am extremely happy with the results. This is her half hearted attempt at a smile, but really she was very pleased. On the way home she kept telling me she liked her haircut. She sat very still through the whole thing up until the very end when she got a little antsy. I was very impressed, though, because I have never seen her sit that still for that long even in her sleep.
The first thing Jackson said when her saw her was, "You look like a boy!" That didn't bother her a bit, though. She just said, "When I grow up, then I'll be a boy." I told her, "No, once a girl, always a girl." In this day and age, though, you can never be too careful.
Here's the back view. Now I don't have to worry about it always looking a mess. It's cut to style. Messy is in! And she's had her first truly feminine experience (You know, other than princesses and fairytales). I have started her on her journey of womanhood. Didn't you know? It all starts with getting your hair done. Knowing Brooklyn, she'll be asking me to take her for a manicure and pedicure soon.

That turned out really cute! The stylist did a great job. She looks very trendy now:) Tell her I think she looks beautiful!
That is so cute. I love the back of the hair. Isn't it just like a boy to downplay something you love. I loved Brooklyn comeback - she's so funny!
The haircut is adorable. She looks like you!! :)
